It is that time of year when activity in the garden has slowed down but you can still plan ahead.

I'm not going to try and convince you to save water or make your own compost because there is so much in the press about it at the moment explaining how it can save you money and look after the environment.

Instead I'm going to point you in the right direction to get hold of composters and water butts especially if you have made some New Year resolutions to be a bit more self sustaining and reduce the amount of waste you create.

So, if you live in Coventry have a look at the links below:

 Composters

Some are buy one get one half price here.  You may think why would I need two?  Simply put, when you have filled one you can leave it to 'cook' a little while you fill the second one.  Once the second one is full you can start using the home made compost back in your borders and start the whole process off again.

Waterbutts

There are only two on here - one is a mini sized containter.  It is always recommended to save as much water as you can so if you have more than one downpipe and it won't be in an awkward place to pass then why not get two?!

As you can see both these links take you to the 'Get Composting' portal of Coventry City Council, and whilst you may find cheaper deals somewhere else these can be delivered - it is just a starting point for you.

If you want to begin composting and don't know where to start why not contact Nicki who will be only too please to come out and run through with you and your family what you can/can't compost and how to get started.  You can always download our Composting Made Easy Guide too.
